Cemetery Rules & Regulations

The following Rules and Regulations have been adopted for the mutual protection of owners of Interment Rights in the Cemetery, visitors and Cemetery employees. All owners of Interment Rights sold therein, shall be subject to these Rules and Regulations as they now exist and as they may reasonably be amended or altered hereafter by the Cemetery. Any reference to these Rules and Regulations in any purchase agreement entered into by the Cemetery, or in any Certificate of Interment Rights issued by the Cemetery, shall have the same force and effect as if these Rules and Regulations were set forth in full therein.

The Cemetery expressly reserves the right, at any time, at its sole discretion and without prior notice to any Owners, to adopt new Rules and Regulations or to amend, modify, or repeal any section, paragraph, or sentence of these Rules and Regulations.

  • The President and General Manager of Reflection Pointe Cemetery reserves the right to make all rules and regulations they deem necessary to provide for the upkeep and welfare of Reflection Pointe Cemetery.

  • All sales of cemetery spaces are final, Reflection Pointe Cemetery will not purchase rights of interment once sold.

  • Opening and Closing of the grave shall be paid for by the family or person taking financial responsibility.

  • At least 48 hours notice must be allowed for the opening of a grave.

  • Graves must be opened and closed by Reflection Pointe Cemetery’s agent under the supervision of Reflection Pointe Cemetery.

  • In order that improvements be kept uniform, Reflection Pointe Cemetery reserves the right to regulate the size and construction of all markers on any grave or lot in said cemetery, and to prevent the erection of any monument or obstruction which may conflict with the regulations, or deter from the general appearance of the cemetery grounds, and remove same, if necessary.

  • Any monument company or individual is required to contact Reflection Pointe Cemetery before placing stones, monuments, vases, or concrete in or on any cemetery space.

  • All monuments shall be approved in design and structure by Reflection Pointe Cemetery management prior to the final order. There shall be a flagging fee of $50.

  • All grave markers shall be set with a concrete or granite foundation with a minimum 6 inch collar around the base of the marker. 

  • Aside from pre-approved VA markers, all monuments must be installed by the manufacturer. Shipments via common carrier will be rejected and returned to sender.

  • Grave markers shall be limited to one headstone and one flat VA bronze foot stone per grave space or one granite bench set on the east edge of 14 foot grave spaces.

  • Grave markers for ALL lots shall be made of approved granite with a thickness of at least 6 inches for tablet and base, slant, bevel, flat markers, and bases. 

  • All grave markers shall be set on a foundation that shall be guaranteed not to lean or tilt. Right of interment holder shall be financially responsible for foundation charges.

  • All financial obligations to Reflection Pointe Funeral & Cremation Services, Reflection Pointe Cemetery, and Smith Family Mortuaries shall be paid in full prior to grave marker installation.

  • No curbs, walks, fences, or borders will be permitted around graves or lots. No mounds on graves, enclosures of graves or lots, or other material will be permitted. Hanging baskets and ornament stands are permitted.

  • No planting of trees, shrubs, or any perennial flowers will be permitted without express written authority from Reflection Pointe Cemetery management.

  • Decorations placed on graves, except for Memorial Day and new burials must be within 4 inches of headstone or west boundary line.  Approximately March 1st, all winter decorations, not in permanent containers will be removed.  Memorial Day decorations will be removed starting the Monday following the Federally observed holiday.  Approximately October 15th, any decorations not in permanent containers will be removed before winter. Please remove any decorations you wish to retain prior to these dates.  

  • Any decorations that interfere with maintaining the cemetery will be removed.

  • Reflection Pointe Cemetery will not be held responsible for any theft or vandalism.

  • A burial vault, designed to protect against graveside elements is required for all caskets and urns interred at Reflection Pointe Cemetery.

  • No more than one casketed burial OR three cremated remains shall be allowed per burial space.

  • Rights of interment may not be transferred or given away without notice given to Reflection Pointe Cemetery, a notarized transfer giving the legal description of the grave, and a $100.00 rights of interment transfer fee.

  • Single space prices are $1,250.00 for 11’x4’ spaces and $1,750.00 for 14’x4’ spaces.  In addition to the space price, a 20% perpetual care fund fee and a $20.00 Kansas Secretary of State fee will be assessed on each space.

  • Opening and closing of adult burial spaces shall be $900.00 Monday through Friday, $1095.00 Saturday, and $1,795.00 on Sundays and legal holidays.  

  • Opening and closing of cremation burial spaces shall be $500.00 Monday through Friday, $695.00 Saturday, and $895.00 on Sundays and legal holidays.

  • Opening and closing fees must be made prior to burial.

  • Opening and closing fees do not include tent and other equipment that may be necessary for interment.

  • Processions arriving after 3:00 pm shall be subject to an overtime fee of $50.00 per half-hour until mourners exit.
