Suzanne Ganzer Moody

d. February 22, 2021

Suzanne Ganzer Moody went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ after a brief battle with Pancreatic Cancer the afternoon of Feb. 22, 2021.

Suzanne was born May 12, 1942 in Kansas City, MO to Walter and Katherine (Troupe) Ganzer. Suzanne was a graduate of Wichita High School Southeast, and received her Bachelor degree in Logopedics and Education from Wichita State in 1964. She married John Moody on April 6, 1963. In 1965 David came along, and in 1968 Deborah joined the family.

Suzanne was known for her hospitality. But not simply food and entertaining- although there was plenty of that! During the 70’s Suzanne and John hosted unwed mothers during the final months of their pregnancies through Lutheran Social services. She went on to start a catering business with her best friend Marilyn Gorham. She and John hosted many missionaries during their years, and most recently Suzanne enjoyed making friends from the Middle East through conversational English lessons.

Suzanne loved her church, Eastminster Presbyterian, and served in numerous capacities over the years. During the final seven years of their lives, she was the chief caregiver for her parents, Walter and Katherine Ganzer.

Suzanne will be missed her family and friends. We’re grateful for her life, her ease with people, her good humor and we’re most grateful for her hope and faith in her Lord.

Suzanne is preceded in death by her Grandmother Helen Fink, her parent’s Walter and Katherine Ganzer and her brother, Kevin Ganzer.

Suzanne is survived by her loving husband of 57 yrs, John D. Moody, Her daughter Debbie Moody of Wichita, KS, son David and daughter-in-law Barbara of Caldwell, ID, four grandchildren and one great grandchild, Ian (Monica & Xavier), Emma, Aidan and Liam. Her brother Phillip and sister-in-law Christine Ganzer of Grand Junction, CO. Her nephew Justin Ganzer (Lori, Madeline & Sadie) her niece Katie Lewis (Ryan, Jackson & Grant), nieces Brittany (Tom) May, and Kristen Ganzer.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given in Suzanne’s name to the World Outreach committee of Eastminster Presbyterian Church, in Wichita, KS and the Union Rescue Mission of Wichita, KS.
