Sone Kasingto Ounaphom

Sone Kasingto Ounaphom, 77, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019. He was born January 3, 1942 to Both and Thong Ounaphom in Vientiane, Laos.

Sone touched many lives and was loved by many because of his care and compassion for everyone. Known to many as a hero, he flew C46, T28, and C123 airplanes for the Royal Lao Air Force from 1965 to 1975. He enjoyed riding his bicycle and lawn mower around the neighborhood and mowing stranger's lawns in unusual outfits. Sone enjoyed eating, playing music, and was always the life of the party.

Sone is survived by his wife, Kongkeo Ounaphom; children, Sonethida Ounaphom, Michael (Dannielle) Ounaphom, Christina (Ali Soukamneuth) Ounaphom, and Dara (Jordan Saybounkham) Ounaphom; grandchildren, Inthida, Phonethepha, Lauren, Bella, Charlie, King, and Parker; and sister, Kong Deuane Ounaphom.

Visitation: Thursday, November 14, 2019 and Friday, November 15, 2019, from 4 to 6 pm. Traditional Buddhist Service: 1 pm, Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Reflection Pointe Funeral & Cremation Services, 3201 S. Webb Rd., Wichita, KS 67210.
