Sandra Dunham

Sandra Dunham, 81, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024. She was born December 18, 1942 in Independence, KS. 

Sandra was a cosmetologist for a number of years and continued doing hair for her family and friends for most of her life. She retired as a Cafeteria Manager from the largest middle school in Wichita, KS. Sandra spent her retirement years caring for extended family members and was always willing to help. She loved on her 6 granddaughters and later, her 6 great-grandchildren. She was proud that all of her granddaughters graduated from college and her final goal was to see her youngest granddaughter graduate from college which she was able to accomplish in May of 2024. Sandra enjoyed visiting, watching Hallmark movies, reading, and traveling. Later in life, Darrell and Sandra enjoyed going to casinos. His passing in 2020 left her heartbroken, because he was the love of her life.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia McCulley; step-father, Chuck McCulley; husband of 60 years, Darrell Dunham; and brother Rex McCulley. Sandra is survived by her daughters, Carol (Mike) Lawrie and Cheryl (Paul) Smith; granddaughters, LaNisha (Jordan) Rose, LaTasha (Henri) St. Arnault, LaRissa (Alex LaRocha) Lawrie, LaShaya Lawrie, Jadyn Smith, and Rylee Smith; and great-grandchildren, Steel Rose, Harper Rose, Indie Rose, Brady St. Arnault, Gavin St. Arnault, and Olive St. Arnault; siblings, Charlotte Rowe and Charles McCulley; and several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation: Friday, August 23, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca St., Wichita, KS 67213. Graveside Service: 1 pm, Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Havana Cemetery in Havana, KS.
