Patrick Showalter

Patrick L. “Sho” Showalter, 79, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away suddenly at his home on February 12, 2026.

Pat was born on November 22, 1946, in Rose Hill, Kansas, to Worth and Vinita Showalter. He proudly served in the Armed Forces before dedicating his career to building homes throughout the Rose Hill, Derby, and Wichita communities. Through his craftsmanship, he created not just houses, but places families were proud to call home.

Pat worked as both a residential and commercial builder and also held military contracts on various government projects. He took great pride in his work and the lasting impact it had on his community.

Pat was a genuine and kind soul who believed chivalry was never out of style. He never turned down the thrill of a fun trip to the casino in hopes of winning a jackpot, and he was always ready for a good fishing trip — along with an even better fish tale to follow. His sense of humor and warm heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Paula Showalter, with whom he shared 46 wonderful years of marriage; his son, V. Troy Meier (Kristi); and his sister-in-law, Francie Showalter.

Pat is survived by his children, Mark (Loretta), Bryan, and Marcia (Mike); his brother, Mike Showalter (Donna); his nieces, Sarah Ott (Brian) and Laura Poteete; his nephew, Brett Showalter (Katie); seven great-nieces and great-nephews; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly.

A service celebrating Pat’s life will be held at Reflection Pointe, 3201 S. Webb Rd., Wichita, KS, on February 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
