Melvin David Ott

Melvin David Ott, 80, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018.  He was born January 30, 1937 to Shirley and Alberta (Todd) Ott in Eureka, KS.  Melvin studied architecture at K-State and later graduated from Emporia State with a degree in Accounting.  He worked as a CPA for many years.  Melvin was an avid golfer and Hornet, Shocker, and Wildcat sports fan.  He loved spending time with his family, especially taking his grandchildren and dog fishing.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon; and sister-in-law, Carol Ott.  Melvin is survived by his children, David Ott and Lisa Greenstreet; grandchildren, Abbey Ott, Sophie Ott, and Davis Greenstreet; brothers, Ronald Ott and Gary (Anita) Ott; brother-in-law, Robert "Bob" Sweatt; and nieces and nephews, Barbara Borg, Janice Steffen, Julie Regier, Christy Murcek, Tracey Bauer, Kelli Thomas, and Jason Sweatt.  Visitation: Monday, January 22, 2018, from 1 to 8 pm.  Funeral: 2 pm, Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018 both at Reflection Pointe Funeral & Cremation Services, 3201 S. Webb Rd., Wichita, KS 67210 .  Interment to follow at Reflection Pointe Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Great Lakes Caring Home Health and Hospice, 1420 Wakarusa Dr. Ste. 202, Lawrence, KS 66049 (www.greatlakescaring.com).  The family would like to thank the staff of Brandon Woods Senior Living and Great Lakes Caring Hospice for their amazing attention, care, and friendship.
