LaVona A. Popejoy

LaVona A. Popejoy, 96, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-mother, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021. She was born March 16, 1925 to Ralph and Rosie (Welsch) Monroe in Pratt, KS.

LaVona worked as a Riveter at Boeing and Cessna for most of her life. She loved painting, sewing, gardening, and cooking. LaVona had a servant's heart and loved her church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents. LaVona is survived by her husband of 56 years, Kenny; children, Rod (Linda) Dixon, Korla Popejoy, and Angela Brickey; grandchildren, Mike (Rachel) Malcom, Jason (Melissa) McCoy, Rodney (Meghan) Dixon II, Hunter (Erika) Breth, Steven Dixon, Blair (Josh) Wilson, Blake Brickey, Evelyn (Ray) Branch, Katy (Richard) Popejoy, Keely Popejoy, Sarah Popejoy; great-grandchildren, Ella, Hudson, Penelope, Savannah, Rodney III, Reed, Hadley, Kameron, Kynzi, Izabella, Lylli, Karson, Owen, Kody, and Kaiden; sisters, Leota Cox and Leora (Dahl) Dugger; and beloved pets, Taffy and Callie.

Funeral: 12:30 pm, Friday, April 2, 2021 with visitation 1 hour prior at Rose Hill Christian Church, 314 N. Rose Hill Rd., Rose Hill, KS 67133. Interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
