Kirk Melvin Workman was born on December 22, 1960, in Fort Collins, Colorado, to Vesta Joan Douglas and Jack Melvin Workman. Kirk dedicated 45 years to his career at Coleman, where he worked as a control mechanic from 1980 until his retirement in 2025. Kirk had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and archery. He was also a talented craftsman and artist who loved creating custom wood pieces and painting on canvas. Above all, Kirk cherished spending time with his wife and family. He took great pride in helping others and will be remembered for his generous and caring nature.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vesta Joan Douglas and Jack Melvin Workman, and his brother, Doug Burton.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Thach; his stepchildren; Minh Ha, Hai, Matthew, Timothy (Paulino Zacarias), and Richard, Steven Phommavanh (Gina Saybounkham), Tao Syaphone Phanith; his children, Nicole, Kelly, Aaron, Brandy, and Jason; his grandchildren Crissie, Logan, Ethan, Ty, Kelly Phanith, and Cayden; his sisters, Jacque (Mike Hickman) and Jane Little; and several nieces and nephews; Salina Phommavanh, Nathan Woodard, Tiara Thongsavanh, Tyler Thongsavanh; and his in-laws; Brian Cannon, Christine Cannon, Vandy Sum, Soy Nith, Cody Ngoun (Erica Seang).
Visitation: Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Funeral Service: 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 25, 2026, all at Reflection Pointe Funeral & Cremation Services, 3201 S. Webb Rd, Wichita, KS 67210.
