Keo Phongvilai

Keo Phongvilai, was born on August 12, 1943 in Oudomxay, Laos and passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on Friday, February 20, 2026 surrounded by family.

In 1962, Keo proudly served in the Lao military, demonstrating courage and dedication to his country at a young age. In 1970, he married his beloved wife, Paeng, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love, loyalty, and perseverance.

In 1980, seeking safety and opportunity for his family, Keo left his homeland and went to a refugee camp in Thailand. He later immigrated to the United States, settling in San Diego, where he began rebuilding his life through hard work and determination.

In 1997, Keo and his family moved to Wichita, where he continued to work and provide for his family until his retirement at the age of 66.

He was a quiet man of strength. A man who endured hardship without complaint. A man who loved his family deeply and showed that love not always through words, but through his actions, his sacrifices, and his unwavering presence. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend -- leaving behind a legacy of a man whose life was defined by courage, sacrifice, resilience, and love.

He was preceded in death by his father, Phong and his mother, Vilai and his brother and younger sister.

Keo is survived by his wife Paeng and their 4 children, consisting of 3 sons and 1 daughter; his oldest son, Mike Phongvilai and his wife Mickey with their 2 kids, Jennifer and Matthew; his next son, Saeng Phongvilai and his wife Vahn with their daughter, Saya; his daughter, Onn Loung and her husband Pros with their 2 kids, Ryan and Rhyanna, and his youngest son, Dee Phongvilai.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 and Friday, February 27, 2026 from 3 pm to 6 pm. Funeral service is held at 1 pm on Saturday, February 28, 2026, all will be at Reflection Pointe Funeral & Cremation Services, 3201 S. Webb Rd., Wichita, KS 67210.
