Karen M. Higgins

Karen M. Higgins, 40, passed away Monday, March 4, 2024.  She was born March 11, 1983 to William and Anita (Mendiola) Moore in Angeles City, Philippines.   

Karen possessed a charm and sense of humor that others connected with. She lived her life fully by creating memorable moments and showing kindness to others. Her favorite times were spent with her two children and family, usually playing board games and Mahjong or just hanging out at home. Karen was an avid Harry Potter fan and baker. She would bake and decorate beautiful cakes for birthdays. According to family and friends, she made the best banana bread. Karen had a way of understanding people and strived to help others. She earned her associate degree at Butler Community College and was taking courses at Wichita State University towards a counseling degree. 

Karen is survived by her parents; children, Jacob and Lorelai Higgins; siblings, Liza Pangapalan and Ailyn (Mike) Penley. She also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins. 

Visitation: Monday, March 11, 2024, from 4 to 7 pm.   Funeral Service: 10 am, Tuesday, March 12, 2024, both at Reflection Pointe Funeral & Cremation Services, 3201 S. Webb Rd., Wichita, KS 67210.  Interment to follow at Reflection Pointe Cemetery.
