Janis K. Peter, 87, died Monday, February 2, 2026. She was born July 6, 1938 in Sutton, Nebraska to William and Emma (Steinhauer) Peter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Warren and Tom Peter; and nephews, David and Bradley Peter.
Janis is survived by her nephew, Gregory (Sandra Holmes) Peter of Chelsea, Michigan, niece Kathleen (Jimi) Young of Wichita, Kansas; and extended family and friends.
Visitation: Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 4 to 6 pm at Reflection Pointe Funeral & Cremation Services, 3201 S. Webb Rd., Wichita, KS 67210. Funeral Service: 2 pm, Friday, February 6, 2026 at Reformation Lutheran Church, 7601 E. 13th St. N., Wichita, KS 67206. Graveside Service: 1 pm, Monday, February 9, 2026 at Sutton Cemetery, 1202 N Saunders Ave, Sutton, NE 68979.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.
