With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for his life, we announce the passing of Jim Kerschen, who departed this world peacefully on August 5, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on July 14, 1943, Jim lived a life defined by dedication, humor, and kindness. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Jim loved the simple joys of life – spending time with a fishing rod in hand, tuning into the Kansas City Royals, playing cards with friends and family, and the occasional trip to the casino. To those who knew him, Jim was a steady presence – genuine and good-humored. His quiet strength, warm smile, and generous heart left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Catherine “Kate” (Polan) Kerschen, his sisters JoAnn (Ralph) Sigman, Jean (Ben) Schawe, and Laura Kerschen, and his brothers Tom (Nora) and Donald Kerschen. Jim is survived by his sons Brent (Angie) Kerschen and Mark (Mendy) Kerschen, his beloved grandchildren Briley (Matt) Letkiewicz, Hadley (Cade) Becker, Ella, Charley, Jax, and Lainey Kerschen, and his great-grandchildren Hunter and Gracyn Letkiewicz, and Scottie Becker.
