James Bradford Fox

James “Brad” Bradford Fox, 68, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, in Wichita, KS.  Brad was born on September 1, 1955, in Wichita.  He is preceded in death by his parents, William A. Fox, Jr. or Eufaula, OK and Marilyn Elaine (Gwinn) Fox of Wichita, KS.

Brad grew up in southeast Wichita and graduated from Southeast High School in 1973.  He also attended Wichita State University.

Brad and Susan (Tarvin) Fox (South High graduate), married in 1980.  In 1981, their daughter, Jessica Elaine was born.  Soon after, they moved to Houston, where brad began his telephone communications business, First Call Communications.  Eventually, he returned to Wichita and continued his business between both cities.

His most recent career and lifework the last five years was with Union Rescue Mission of Wichita, which provides guidance for the homeless, services and programs to their salvation, restoration, and life changes through Christ.  Brad also worked for Goodwill Industries of Kansas, Inc. in Wichita.

Brad’s enthusiasm for sports was also unparalleled.  His favorite teams were the Shockers, Texans, Cowboys, and Astros.  His other passion was playing golf when he could.

Brad is survived by his beloved daughter, Jessica Fox; 2 granddaughters, Destiny Fox and Anaya Gordon; 1 grandson, Damond Gordon, all of Houston; sisters, Vicki (Allan) Haeberle of La Quinta, CA and Janis Engels of Rose Hill; 5 nieces; 6 great-nieces; 2 great-nephews; and many dear lifelong friends who touched his life in so many ways.  May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love that he so generously shared with us all.

A Celebration of Life for Brad will be held in March for all family and friends to attend.  Details will be forthcoming.  In honoring his spirit and love for God, our family welcomes Memorial/Honorarium Gifts to Union Rescue Mission of Wichita, 2800 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.
