Hamfaeng Sopha

Hamfaeng Sopha, 69, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025. He was born on April 15, 1956 to Lot and Nou Sopha in Pakse, Laos.

We are heartbroken to share that Hamfaeng Sopha, a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many, passed away on December 9, 2025, after a brief and courageous battle with stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma.

Hamfaeng was born in Pakse, Laos, on April 15, 1956. As one of ten children, he spent his life surrounded by love and family. He immigrated to the United States in 1988, building a new life and bringing his family together here.

Affectionately known as "The Fixer," Hamfaeng was a gifted carpenter with a rare ability to repair just about anything. He became a cornerstone of the local Laotian community and many knew his number by heart and relied on him to unclog a drain, fix a broken appliance, or offer a helping hand with any problem, big or small. He was generous with his skills, his time, and most of all, his heart.

Life took an unexpected turn when Hamfaeng was diagnosed with stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma on November 11, 2025. He fought bravely, but the illness progressed rapidly.

We are establishing this fund to help cover the costs of his funeral and memorial services. Hamfaeng spent his life supporting others, and we now humbly ask for help in giving him the respectful farewell he deserves.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Hamfaeng is survived by his wife, Taengone Sopha; children, Manila (Sara) Sopha, Sakveing Sopha, Tim (Katsarin Bouddhara) Sopha, Nouansy (Jonathan Tran) Sopha, and Kansana (Thi) Sopha; grandchildren, Eleni Sopha, Ken Sopha, Davahn Sopha, Destiny Sopha, Tommy Sopha, Kaison Sopha, Tayden Sopha, Parker Sopha, Rylan Sopha, Eli Sopha, Noah Sopha, Kamdon Sopha; and siblings, Kou Sopha and Sing Sopha.

Visitation: Thursday, December 18, 2025 and Friday, December 19, 2025 from 3 to 6 PM. Funeral: 1 pm, Saturday, December 20, 2025, all at Reflection Pointe Funeral & Cremation Services, 3201 S. Webb Rd., Wichita, KS 67210.
