Ba Thi Huynh, 79, passed away Monday, June 22, 2026. She was born June 5, 1947 to Tu Huynh and Buc Pham in Can Gio, Vietnam.
From her grandchildren:
Grandma was our foundation—the village we all needed and the glue that held each and every one of us together. She made sure everyone was fed, cared for, and happy. Her love, kindness, and selflessness touched each of our lives in countless ways and shaped who we are today.
When we think of home, we think of Grandma. She was our beacon of light, guiding us through life with unwavering love and support. She created a home where everyone felt welcome, comfortable, cared for, and loved. Family was always her greatest priority, and through her example, she taught us what it meant to love one another fully, steadfastly, and unconditionally.
Grandma meant happiness. Her smile could light up even the darkest room, and her laughter was contagious. She had a special gift for making everyone around her feel at ease. Whether you were family, a friend, or someone she had just met, Grandma had a way of making you feel like you belonged. She was a safe place for so many—a source of comfort, reassurance, and strength when the world felt overwhelming.
She cherished every moment spent with her family. Whether we were gathered around her table, traveling together, sharing stories, or simply sitting quietly in her presence, she treasured being surrounded by the people she loved. She never let anything hold her back from making memories with us, and she always wore a smile while doing it.
One of the ways Grandma showed her love was through her cooking. Nothing made her happier than bringing everyone together to share a meal. Every dish she prepared was made with care, and every gathering around her table was filled with warmth, laughter, and love. She was an incredible cook, but even more importantly, she knew how to nourish our hearts.
Grandma was our biggest supporter. She encouraged our dreams, celebrated our accomplishments, and believed in us even when we doubted ourselves. She made us feel loved, confident, and capable of becoming whoever we wanted to be. She was so proud of her family and loved capturing every moment through photos and videos, preserving memories that we will cherish forever.
She was also an amazing listener and one of the kindest souls we have ever known. She always knew the right thing to say to make everything feel better. Her grace, compassion, and generosity extended not only to her family but to everyone she met. She cared deeply for others, nurtured life through her gardening, and treated every person with warmth and respect.
We will always remember how she would make time for us, no matter how busy she was. She would gladly do the little things that brought a smile to our faces. Even when we lived far away, she would call just to check in, hear our voices, and see our faces. Her smile never faded, no matter how long or short the conversation.
Grandma was beautiful, strong, and unbelievably kind. She had the biggest heart imaginable, and she loved wholeheartedly and without conditions. She wasn't just our grandmother—she was our friend, our guide, our cheerleader, and our constant source of love. She was the heart of our family, always picking up the broken pieces and reminding us that we could get through anything together.
She raised and cared for so many in our family and was always there when we needed her most. When there was nowhere else to go, Grandma and Grandpa's home was always a place of love, comfort, and belonging. She embraced all of our differences and made each of us feel valued, accepted, and deeply loved. The lessons she taught us, the memories she gave us, and the love she shared so freely will remain with us forever. There are truly not enough words to express how grateful we are to have called her our Grandma.
