John Lolley

December 3, 1919 — September 1, 2010

Lolley, John Wesley, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 after a short battle with Alzheimer’s disease. John is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Anita; children: Becky, Britt and his wife Jeannie; grandchildren Tara and Sean, all of Wichita. John worked for Cessna Aircraft before serving in WWII, spending wartime in India. After a trip around the world John returned home and worked as a carpenter. With Anita’s help he built the family home in Wichita. He worked for Boeing Aircraft as a supervisor in the Experimental Department in Wichita and Seattle. After retiring, John worked for Foley Tractor as their Property Manager. He had many exciting adventures while working for the Foley family and retired in 1987. John enjoyed going to garage and estate sales while proudly wearing his “Official Junk Dealer” badge, bringing home new treasures every week. John was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Wichita Gem and Mineral Society. At John’s request no public service will be held. Plans for a private Life Celebration are pending. The family requests donations be made in John’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or Southern Care Hospice.
