Moore, JR, Billy Joe, age 52,Jack's North Hi Carryout owner and longtime entrepreneur, passed away Friday, November 6, 2009. The visitation with the family present will be held from 6 - 8 PM Monday, with Memorial Services scheduled for 10:30 AM Tuesday, both in the Garden Chapel of Watson Reflection Pointe, 3201 S. Webb. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving wife Barbara and his mother Beverly. As a compassionate friend to all animals, he will be missed by his dog, Angel, cats Sneaker and Sylvia, and his pig, Sweet Bee. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Billy and sister, Penny. Born on February 12, 1957, in Rantoul, IL to Bill and Beverly Moore he moved to Derby in 1972 where he attended Derby High School. He married Barbara Williams on April 11, 1981, in Wichita, KS. Joe was a hot rod enthusiast, from building cars and enjoying car shows to his annual trip to the Bonneville Salt Flats for Speed Week. Fishing was his favorite way to relax and he spent many hours "casting a rod" on the banks of his favorite pond. As an entrepreneur, Joe fulfilled a dream to rebuild Jack's North Hi Carryout. In March 2009, Joe re-opened this much missed landmark icon to a tremendous response of support from the Wichita community and he loved meeting everyone who came to Jack's. To honor his memory and hard work, Jack's will continue to serve "The Best Hamburgers This Side of the Moon." Memorials have been established with ARC, 2919 W 2nd, Wichita, KS 67203 and Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N Hillside, Wichita, KS 67228.
