Penny Sue Stanelle

Stanelle, Penny Sue, died peacefully May 10, 2006 in the presence of her loving family after 57 years of wonderful life.

She was born Penelope Sue Pruter in Lakeport, CA on September 3, 1948. She graduated from Natoma High School, Natoma, KS in 1965 and attended Ft. Hays State University, eventually receiving a B.S. degree from Kansas State University in 1985.

Penny’s greatest loves were her devoted husband, granddaughter Maya (her special pride and joy), her children and all things musical. She touched many hearts with her beautiful voice and passion for a variety of instruments, and was a dedicated participant in several contemporary church services across the country. Through her extensive travels Penny made an impact on the lives of countless people around the world. Her unique perspective, gift of gab and special influence will be dearly missed.

Penny was preceded in death by her father, Rhynold Pruter. She is lovingly remembered by husband of 24 years, Jim Stanelle of Brillion, WI; daughter Amie Chance of Wichita, KS; sons Mike (Mindi) Chance of Wichita, KS and John (special friend Ritisha) Chance of Capitola, CA; granddaughter Maya Mikity; host daughter Yasuao Mimura of Tokyo, Japan; mother Bernice Stohl of Nashua, MT; sisters Betty Cowley of Riverside, CA and Dianne (Milan) Masters of Natoma, KS; brother Bobby Mohler of Kyle, TX; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A celebration of her life will be held Friday, May 19, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Green Bay.

Those who so desire may make Memorial Donations toward a contemporary Christian music concert series in memory of Penny to the First United Methodist Church of Green Bay, 501 Howe St., Green Bay, WI 54301.
