Werner, William "Greg" "Sluggo," 56, R.E. Black Maintenance carpenter and U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, passed away May 6, 2009 of cancer. Service 10 a.m. Saturday at Watson Reflection Pointe, 3201 S. Webb Road; a memorial service will be held at a later date in his hometown of Mayville, Mich. Greg was born Oct. 2, 1952 in Marlette, Mich., to William and Christine (Graczyk) Werner. He was a graduate of Mayville High School, Mayville, Mich. Greg enjoyed family foremost, Detroit Tigers and Red Wings, golfing and gambling. Survivors: wife, Sharon; stepson, Ray Travelstead; brothers, Doug (Beth), Jeff (Beth), Darren (Melissa); sisters, Elisia, Krystal, Stacey (Brian); many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, a large and loving extended family and many friends. Greg never met a stranger. He will forever be missed and will remain in our heart always!
