Johnson, William “Bill” D., age 72, passed away suddenly October 20, 2013. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, October 27th from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Derby Library Community Room, 1600 Walnut Grove, Derby, KS. Bill was born on July 12, 1941 in Russell, Kansas and passed away on October 20, 2013 in Greenwich, Kansas. During WWII his family moved to Wichita, KS to work in the bomber factory. He married his wife, Audrey on December 25, 1974 in Wichita, KS. Together, they had a son, Byron, and a daughter, Ashley. Bill had a lifetime love of racing and helping those less fortunate in the community. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years Audrey Johnson on September 3, 2013; his parents, Arzie and Rheba Johnson. He is survived by brothers, Tom Johnson, Kenney Johnson, Richard Johson, Harry Johnson, and Charlie Johnson; sisters, Audie Buford, Kay Volbrecht, Ruth Johnson, and Lilly Fullman; son Byron Johnson and wife, Tara; daughter, Ashley Liby and husband, Luke; grandchildren, Matrim Ingram and Carter Scobee. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Kansas Humane Society or The Friends of Felines in Bill’s name.
