Ken Potvin

June 15, 1966 — September 2, 2013

Potvin, Kenneth G., of Wichita, Ks passed away on September 2nd, 2013, at the age of 47 after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Ken was born on June 15, 1966 in Wichita, Kansas. Ken married the love of his life, Lisa Creekmore in 1994 and they are blessed with two gifts from God, Andrew and Angela. Ken started as a plumber at Creekmore Plumbing, becoming part owner and having an outstanding career. Ken’s life was characterized by devotion to his family, friends, and steadfast faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He inspired others by his example and considered his final battle with cancer to be an opportunity to continue to share the love of Christ with others, serve as a witness of Jesus to everyone God put in his path, and to bring glory to God. He considered it pure joy whenever he faced trials of many kinds, because he knew that the testing of his faith developed perseverance. This perseverance would finish its work, so that he would mature and be complete, not lacking in anything (Ref. - James 1:2-3). Ken was preceded in death by his brother Roger. He is survived by his parents, Gerald and Corinne (Lewis) Potvin, his brother Mark (Gina), Michael (Marsha), Maria (Darrell Douglas), Eric (Carla), Jim (Adrianne), Christine (Nha Nguyen), Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law, Darryl and Jean Creekmore, Sister-in-Law and Brother-in-Law Shelley (Steve Coleman). The visitation will be from 6 – 8 PM Friday, at Watson Reflection Pointe, 3201 S. Webb. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 7th, at Countryside Christian Church 1919 S. Rock Road in Wichita, Ks. A memorial is established with Countryside Christian Church with funds to be distributed between the Gilpin Church plant in Kansas City and Countryside Men’s Ministry.
