Wasylk, William E. (Charlie), age 63, ret. USD 259 Service Center Crewperson, passed away August 9, 2011. He was born on March 2, 1948 in Rogers City, Michigan and had seventeen brothers and sisters. While serving his country in Viet Nam in the Infantry, he was injured in the line of duty and earned the Purple Heart. In the late 1980’s he served as the local Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 558 and was also a Councilman in Park City, KS for nearly three years in the early 1990’s. While he worked for USD 259, he earned his Associate of Science Degree at Butler County. Survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Carolyn; stepchildren, Angie Arnold and Greg Burke; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild, all of Wichita. Full Military Funeral Honors will be held in the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Winfield, KS. Charlie will be greatly missed.
